calgary videographer helps create content for clients who invest in a brand video

Ready to invest in a brand video in 2023? If so, you’ll want to make the most of your investment! Luckily, I’m here to help (as your favorite Calgary brand videographer). Before I share the details of how we made the most of Sphere Optometry’s brand videos, I want to share some feedback they gave me after their brand videos went live!

“I have been finding that our most engaged patients, and those who are usually the most excited about our offering from a health and retail perspective are those who come from social, more specifically from Instagram, so I'd like to try to grow that population and convert them to patients.  I feel that video offerings could help with our engagement and creating a real fan base of Sphere supporters!” – Danielle Gordon, Optometrist at Sphere Optometry

This is what Danielle said in her questionnaire when I asked her why Sphere Optometry wanted to invest in a brand video by working with a Calgary brand videographer (me) and how it could impact their business. I loved this answer because I felt like Danielle was spot on!

How did I help?

I created two marketing videos for Sphere Optometry that aligned with their goals. These videos help tell their story in a clear, professional, and concise way. They’re perfect for showing to potential customers, sharing on socials, including on the website, and wherever else they’d like.

With one video we focused on a specific service that they get a lot of questions about, and the other video was more of an overview of the optometry clinic.

The service video is a great resource to educate people on their facials. It answers the frequently asked questions, provides all the necessary information, and helps someone better picture what the service entails.

The overview videos capture the essence of the clinic while sharing about the business in a more overhead way. It’s a great video for people who are interested in learning more about the general atmosphere and attitude of Sphere Optometry.

Putting some money into a brand video could be just the thing your business needs to stay ahead of the game. Let's face it, we live in a digital world where grabbing people's attention isn't always easy. But when you invest in a brand video, you can share your story, show off your products or services, and really connect with your audience on an emotional level. Think of it as a secret weapon that helps your business stand out from the crowd! And guess what? It's not just about looking good – it's about building trust and credibility too.

Plus, videos are known to boost conversion rates, get people talking on social media, and even help you rank higher on search engines. So, invest in a brand video to not only show off the heart and soul of your brand, but to also set yourself up for some serious business growth!

People are watching…

They’re watching the content you’re creating. They’re watching how often you’re posting. They’re watching to see if you interact. They’re watching. Social media is a powerful tool that you can use to draw in potential clients, and keep your existing clients hooked.

What’s the process of working with a brand videographer?

Before our shoot, I sent Danielle a questionnaire to learn more about the brand and what they were specifically looking for with their video content.

Afterward, we met and discussed how we could best execute their goals in their videos. Meeting before the video session helps us ensure that we’re on the same page and able to be most productive on the day of the video shoot.

We scheduled a time that worked best, and then eagerly waited for the big day.

On the day of the session, we met and recorded the footage. When we have a plan beforehand, we’re able to efficiently get the right footage and have guidance on what we need to do. We had so much fun recording the clips, getting to know each other, and creating content.

Shooting days are some of the highlights of being a brand videographer—it’s always so much fun getting to actually be behind the camera capturing people in their businesses.

Once I’ve captured all the footage I take it home to work my magic (aka edit for hours haha). I piece clips together, colour correct, find music, correct audio, and do all that fun stuff that goes on behind the scenes.

When I’m done the footage, I get to type of an exciting email and send it to the client! This is both absolutely thrilling and always a little bit nerve-wracking.

What did Sphere Optometry do with their branded footage?

They used their footage to grow their fan base, just like they had hoped.

You can check out one of their reels here, and the other one here. It’s really exciting to see that both reels were top-performing posts with high engagement, and views.

Creating engaging social media content can feel overwhelming. When you work with a brand videographer you will receive professional video footage that you can use on your socials, website, emails, and more!

Brand Video FAQ and Info Guide

  • A brand video is a visual representation that encapsulates the essence, values, and story of a brand. It's a powerful tool in the arsenal of video marketing, designed to boost brand awareness and connect with a target audience on a deeper level. At its core, a effective brand video tells the story of a brand, weaving together elements of its identity in a compelling narrative that resonates with viewers.

When businesses decide to create a brand video, the goal is often to produce high-quality brand video content that stands out in a saturated market. A successful brand video doesn't just promote a product or service; it delves into the brand's ethos, its mission, and its unique selling points. This is where the distinction between generic video content and branded videos becomes clear. While explainer videos might focus on a product's functionality, brand awareness videos aim to leave a lasting impression about the brand as a whole.

For a brand video to be truly effective, it must be integrated into a broader marketing plan. This ensures that the video reaches its target audience and achieves its intended impact. The most compelling brand videos are those that authentically showcase the brand's values and vision, making them an indispensable part of a video marketing plan.

    Key Elements of Brand Videos:

Brand Story: The narrative that defines the brand's journey and purpose.

High-Quality Production: Ensuring the video reflects the brand's professionalism.

Target Audience Engagement: Crafting content that resonates with the intended viewers.

Integration with Marketing Strategy: Aligning video content with broader marketing goals.

Showcasing Your Brand: A brand video will highlight what makes the brand unique.

Compelling Narratives: Creating memorable and engaging stories.

Consistency: Ensuring all brand videos align with the brand's voice and image.

In essence, brand videos are more than just promotional tools. They are a reflection of a brand's identity, ethos, and values, designed to engage and resonate with viewers. Whether you're looking to create brand videos or refine your video marketing strategy, understanding the power and potential of this medium is crucial.

  • An Explainer video is a short, engaging video used to explain a product, service, or concept in a clear and concise manner. They're designed to be easily digestible, often using animated graphics, straightforward narratives, and compelling visuals to convey complex ideas quickly. They differ from brand videos slightly in that they are still branded videos but they are designed to showcase something specific about your products or services.

Here's a deeper dive into what they are and their significance:

    Purpose and Features:

Simplicity: Explainer videos break down intricate topics into simple, understandable terms. They aim to answer questions like "What is this?", "How does it work?", and "Why do I need it?".

Engagement: Using a combination of visuals, voiceovers, and sometimes music, these videos are designed to grab the viewer's attention and keep them engaged throughout.

Short Duration: Typically, these videos are between 1 to 3 minutes long, ensuring the message is conveyed quickly to cater to short attention spans.

Versatility: They can be used across various platforms, from a company's homepage to social media channels, making them a versatile tool for marketing and education.

Types: While many of these videos are animated, they can also be live-action, whiteboard drawings, or even infographics in motion.

    Benefits

Increased Understanding: By visually representing information, they enhance comprehension and retention of the subject matter.

Boost Conversion Rates: When used in marketing, a clear explanation of a product or service can lead to better informed and more confident customers, thus increasing sales.

Enhanced Online Visibility: Videos are shareable and can improve SEO, driving more traffic to websites.

Brand Identity: Custom animations and color schemes in explainer videos can reinforce brand identity and make a company more memorable.

In essence, these types of videos are a powerful tool for businesses and educators alike, offering a dynamic way to communicate complex ideas in a time-efficient and memorable manner. Whether introducing a new product, explaining a difficult concept, or onboarding users to a software platform, these videos can make the process smoother and more effective.

  • Think of them as the ultimate cheerleaders for a brand. Instead of diving deep into the nitty-gritty of a product like explainer videos do, brand awareness videos are brand videos that are all about capturing the heart and soul of a brand. They're like that catchy tune you can't get out of your head!

So, what makes these videos stand out? First off, they're all about the feels. They craft stories that tug at our heartstrings, making us remember the brand long after the video ends. And it's not just about showcasing a product; it's about shining a spotlight on what the brand truly stands for. Plus, with top-notch production quality, they're designed to impress. And guess what? They're made to be shared far and wide, resonating with just about everyone.

Now, the perks of these videos? Loads! They're like a brand's best friend. They make sure the brand's colors, images, and messages become familiar faces to viewers. They're storytellers, sharing tales of the brand's journey, values, and dreams, building trust along the way. And let's not forget the engagement factor – a well-made brand awareness video is like a magnet, drawing viewers in and getting them talking. Plus, when people know a brand well, other marketing efforts just glide smoothly.

In a nutshell, brand awareness videos are the life of the party, ensuring a brand isn't just seen but truly remembered. Through tales, emotions, and some pizzazz, they make sure a brand shines bright in the marketplace. So, next time you think of a product category, chances are, a brand with a catchy awareness video will pop into your mind! Cool, right?
